Let’s talk about suicide
You decided to leave.
when the pain,
the torment,
the anguish of staying
became more than you could carry.
You moved on.
Know that you are remembered.
Know that you are missed.
Know that you are loved.
Know that we wish life had been different.
Know that we are so sorry.
Know that we wish your search for peace and more wellness
had not led you here.
May we talk about suicide.
May we remove the stigma.
May we speak the names of those we have lost.
May we make room for grief,
for questions,
for love without shame.
Know you are not forgotten.
Know that some of us understand.
Know we are listening.
May we talk about the longing to leave.
May we talk about endings and beginnings.
May we talk about suicide
May we sit together
May we tell the truth
about suffering.
May we carry one another
when we can.
May we remember
those who left.
May we love
those who remain.
May we bring suicide out of the shadows
May we speak
with honesty,
with tenderness, and without shame.
May we be there for each other.
